PrePaidLab.com is a pre-paid medical testing program for lab tests that utilizes a large, national network of providers. Since tests are pre-paid, prices are significantly lower than the standard charge.

What if I forgot my PASSWORD?
You can use the LOST PASSWORD link in the login section. Click it, then enter your email address as you did in the email below. The system will send your password to you.

Is PrePaidLab.com "insurance"?
No, PrePaidLab.com is not insurance. There are no monthly premiums, no applications, no underwriting, no waiting periods, no preexisting conditions, and no claims reports.

 

Is PrePaidLab.com a "discount medical plan"?
PrePaidLab.com is not a "discount medical plan." There are no monthly fees and there is no enrollment or enrollment fees. You can order online or contact PrePaidLab.com Customer Service Specialists 1-800-903-3921 to answer any questions.

 

What does it cost?
PrePaidLab.com has no monthly or annual fees. Our pricing typical can be up to 70% off retail pricing. The only fee PrePaidLab.com has is an ordering fee of $9.50 per order ($13.00 in CA).

 

How do I join?
There is nothing to join.   Just access our lab test menu on the left, or call our toll-free number at 1-800-903-3921.

 

Can an organization, association, union, or large group add PrePaidLab.com as a benefit?
Yes. PrePaidLab.com makes it easy to provide this Program to your organization's benefits plan.

 

Are there any waiting periods, pre-existing condition limits or other "insurance related" limits to this Program?
No, PrePaidLab.com is not insurance and has no such limits.

 

Are there any age limits or restrictions?
No, even seniors can use the benefits as often as they wish and receive lower prices than the usual and customary rates.

 

Why should I get tested?
A serious medical condition such as heart disease, prostate cancer, or diabetes can exist without noticeable symptoms.   Early detection is your best defense. A simple blood test can indicate what is happening to assist you in reversal of potential problem areas, and establish a baseline of your normal ranges for which future tests can be monitored.

 

Do I need to see my doctor to get tested?
No, Consumers are realizing that they need to take control of their own health, and direct-to-consumer testing programs allow greater participation in one's own healthcare. A doctor's prescription is not necessary for all lab tests.  You may order a lab test without consulting your doctor each time one is necessary.  PrePaidLab.com refers its clients to the same CLIA-certified labs that physicians and hospitals use, so you can rest assured that quality care is being given.  PrePaidLab.com recommends that you share the lab results with your physician.

 

Can I have my doctor’s office order my tests?
Yes, but you need to pre-pay for your tests at the time of ordering, so be sure to have your credit card information ready when your doctor’s office orders for you.

 

Can I use PrePaidLab.com with my current health plan’s benefits?
Yes, PrePaidLab.com uses several national testing labs. As a result, the number of facilities available to you is very comprehensive.  If your health plan’s medical testing benefits have a large co-pay, deductible, coinsurance (money out of your pocket), or excludes testing,  PrePaidLab.com can save you valuable dollars.

 

What if I haven’t met my deductible?  Will PrePaidLab.com be of any value to me?
Absolutely! Anything up to your deductible comes out of your pocket; therefore, you save money with PrePaidLab.com because you pre-pay and get lower fees. It’s your money.  Why not spend far less of it?

 

How do I order my tests?
You can order your lab tests online or by calling our toll-free number 1-800-903-3921.  Once you’ve pre-paid, using a credit card, PrePaidLab.com Customer Service Specialists will provide you with the a requisition so that you can get the tests.

 

How and when do I pay for my tests?
You pay when you order your tests. We accept credit card payment, VISA, MasterCard, or Discover. The same is true when using the toll free number 1-800-903-3921

 

How does the actual test ordering process work?
When ordering online, just follow the easy online instructions.  If ordering using our toll free number, 1-800-903-3921, the Customer Service Specialists will guide you through every step of the process. If you have questions while online, please call and the Customer Service Specialists will be happy to answer them for you no matter where you are in the process.

 

If I have Medicare, can I still use PrePaidLab.com?
Medicare often covers testing, however, if Medicare declares that a test is not "medically necessary" or that it exceeds an annual limit (is being taken too often), you may order your lab tests from PrePaidLab.com. You will have to pay for your testing in advance, and Medicare will not reimburse you for the testing, however, by having PrePaidLab.com perform the testing, seniors will save valuable dollars from their fixed incomes.

 

Who can use PrePaidLab.com?

  • Anyone, regardless of whether there is a medical health plan in place or not.
  • Those who are “heavy users” of medical testing where insurance doesn’t cover their testing (PrePaidLab.com has no waiting periods or
    preexisting condition limitations on testing.
  • Anyone with a high deductible or Health Savings Account plan.
  • Anyone in a “waiting period” for other insurance.
  • Anyone with a mini med or limited benefit health plan.
  • Anyone with a temporary major medical plan.
  • Part time employees.

    Can I use PrePaidLab.com if I don’t have any insurance?
    Absolutely! Approximately 50 million Americans have no health insurance either through their employer or as a personal plan. PrePaidLab.com works to bring down the cost of your medical testing.

     

    Is this covered by my insurance?
    PrePaidLab.com does not file insurance claims. Some insurance plans have a "wellness" or "prevention" benefit and you should contact your carrier for that information. We can provide you with the CPT codes so you may file for reimbursement.

     

    Does Medicare or Medicaid cover this?
    This program is not covered by Medicare nor Medicaid.

     

    Do I need an appointment?
    An appointment is usually not required at most Patient Service Centers. However, we encourage our customers to call a Convenient Patient Service Center to find out if an appointment is needed.

     

    Should I fast before taking the tests?
    Please contact your physician or the lab testing site to find out about fasting requirements.

     

    When will I receive the results?
    You can expect to receive the results by e-mail usually within 48-96 hours after your blood is drawn for serum tests. Results from the specialty labs on hair, saliva, urine, and stool may take a week or longer. Cultures, Reflex, and Specialty Test may take 14-28 days.

     

    Are the results available online?
    Your results will be emailed to you, usually within 48-96 hours.

     

    Are the results confidential?
    Absolutely. We respect your privacy and maintain confidentiality. You are the only one who receives the results unless you specifically direct us otherwise, with a signed HIPAA release. TO ASSURE COMPLETE PRIVACY, ALL RESULTS FOR STD TESTING MUST BE RETRIEVED BY CALLING 1-800-903-3921 AFTER TESTING IS COMPLETE. All other results will be sent by email. If you have any questions, please call our Customer Service Specialists at 1-800-903-3921.

    Will I be able to understand the test results?
    You should consult with your physician regarding your test results.

     

    How reliable are the results?
    We use the leading national laboratories, which are fully accredited, licensed Medical Reference Labs. These are the same labs your physician uses.

     

    Will my doctor see the results or receive a copy?
    We deal directly, confidentially with you and email the results to you only. We do recommend that you take a copy of the results with you when you visit your Doctor; or you may complete and return (submit, fax or mail) this HIPAA release if you do want a third party to receive the results as well. If you sign the HIPAA Release Form and direct us to send your doctor the results, the results will be forwarded to your doctor.

     

    What if I receive an abnormal value?
    Abnormalities should be considered an early warning, but do not necessarily mean you have an illness or disease. We strongly recommend you discuss the results with your Doctor for evaluation, further testing, and diagnosis.

     

    Who can I contact about abnormal results?
    Questions regarding abnormal results should be discussed with your Doctor.

     

    What is a Patient Service Center?
    Certified laboratories have Patient Service Centers throughout the United States where patients have their blood drawn. These are staffed by licensed phlebotomists and the same facilities referred to by Doctors.

     

    Is there a Patient Service Center near me?
    PrePaidLab.com uses only nationwide CLIA-certified Medical Reference Laboratories with Patient Service Centers close to where you live or work for the blood draw. Special arrangements can be made for an area without a facility.

     

    What is the testing procedure?
    You may order online at www.prepaidlab.com or by phone at 1-800-903-3921. We then refer you to the laboratory with the Patient Service Center most convenient to your home or office, where the blood is drawn by a certified phlebotomist. The results are received by our office generally within 48-72 hours and e-mailed confidentially to you. For more information on the testing procedure, click here.

     

    Can I Order online?
    You may complete a secure online order form which is in encrypted code. To protect you and your credit card information, we use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology, which is the industry standard and among the best software available today for secure commerce transactions. SSL sends your credit card number to our computer in an encrypted code, which only we can decode.

     

    Can I cancel my order?
    There will be a $50.00 cancellation fee for any canceled orders.

    Can my results be mailed or faxed?
    Results are faxed to your physician with the completion of the HIPAA form on the lab order. There is a $6.00 fee to have the results faxed to someone other than your physician. There is a $7.00 fee to have the results sent by mail. Results are normally delivered by secure email which is included in the price of the lab.

    How long is my requisition good for?
    Requisitions are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase.
